Kudos to your Rooster. We had a Rooster that attacked my wife yesterday. After our last killer rooster episode A sad day on the Farm she decided not to fool around with this one at all. Lets just say your rooster is having a better day then our rooster.

Creatures of prey, I use to freak out when a chicken hawk would show up for about a week every spring.{ he showed up again last week} I let my birds free range during the day but not once has he ever gone after my birds. But my yearly yard full of squirrel's bite the dust within a few days every year, so me and the hawk get along fine!!!PEACE

I don't know the exact name but they lay green eggs. I pulled the others out to shove the owl through the door so I could scoop up the owl but that last hen didn't want to leave. Her egg was to the right of her in the pic.

My wife says hens that lay green eggs are Araucana or Easter Egg hens that are cross breeds that carry the green/blue egg gene. We had 4 of them prior to the raccoons invasion of her chicken house

Great thread,bro!Kudos on the release.As a teen,I worked on a pheasant farm/shooting preserve,and feel bad now,about some of the predators I saw killed.Great job.
