im surprised they let you that close. since 9-11 they really make you keep your distance. even the coast guard boat in cape may doesnt let you get anywhere near them when they are coming into or out of port. they always seem to have an escort. WITH GUNS!

That reminds me of a boat i was delivering from Li to Cape Cod
steamed up the LI sound in the dark and made the race by daylight
after clearing the race and all the wire liners i hear on 16 US NAVY SUBMARINE Position BLA BLA I said to my self cool there are subs around

I check my position and speed and here it again and this time there calling my position

i Pull Back on the throttles and answer them as they come out of the mist only a few hundred yards away

I pull back completly and watch them go by and then they start broadcasting
every minute or so there position

the conning tower was visiable on radar at 1/4 mile and not a dime more

Ther's so much traffic here there is no way they could keep that area clear.An f-18 or cobra gunship is never far away
