They are back! Rod Bending, Tackle Busting Big Bluefish, and they are hungry! They are finally done with the spawn. I couldn't get offshore this morning for a midrange bluefin trip so I ran up this morning to the Shrewsburry Rocks with Steve and Greg Irwin, and Tim McQuery and Ian Macotela. I didn't really see any readings I loved, so after a couple of trolled blues there we shot over to the Mud Bouy. Once there it was Game On, huge piles of fish on the bottom scope, all fish, no bait. In fact when I was filleting the fish back at the dock, the bellies were all empty. We fished for a couple of hours in catch and release mode after the group had enough fish to take home, and then headed for the barn early when the weather started to kick up a little. It wasn't bluefin , but it sure was fun!
