    Exclamation Tuna Permit reminder...

Just going to remind everyone that the 2007-2008 HMS tuna permits go invalid after tonight under the new Jan-Jan. system. You will have to have the 2009 permit to fish from tomorrow thru Dec. 31 next year. Didn't want anyone to get in trouble over this change.

Quick question for the tuna hunters down in MHC, or anywhere for that matter. Don't fish commercialy, but do you need to show the fish broker/seller a copy of your permit at the fish house, or is it only if you get boarded by the CG?

If you fish commercial the CG, buyers, NMFS, etc. will all be looking over your paperwork at some point and it can get ugly if all is not in order.

Yes, if you preregister, most brokers want a copy of your pelagic permit, your P number registration and your commercial permit.

i still can not believe how cheap the permits are.. i mean it is a great thing but 16.00 bucks to commercially harvest fish is unbelieveable..
