Shoved off about 5:30 saturday morning, hoping to head right back out to the 240's where we left off on tuesday. nice ride out....little bumpy but laid out as the day went on. started out a little slow....first fish was a flatline bite that had us fooled for a saildog when he snaked up behind the bait only to turn sideways in the wash and shake that toothy head when he got stuck. picked away at them steadily most of the day.....had bites all over....shorts, longs, bridge pole and planer rod. john found the fish good about 1:00 and we proceeded to pound their ass and had a limit of 10 just after 2:00. with 9 in the box, we had a planer bite, then the bridge pole went down and then an explosive short rigger bite. the planer fish broke off so we had two on and only needed one. reeled them both up behind the transom and stuck the biggest. never thought i would ever reach down and turn loose a 40 lb wahoo, but we have to leave some for seed i guess. boxed a little blackfin, on the planer, on wire, somewhere in the melee as well.
thanks to John for having us. pretty work on putting us in the meat again.
some pics....i think the Capt. got some video too. will see if maybe we cant do something with it.
my scrawny ass struggling to lift one pissed off fish that weighs about half as much as i do....
another one bites the dust.....
Frank the Tank whipped this fish on the planer rod, grabbed up the long rigger that was all strung out, hopped in the chair and cranked it in too. pretty work Frank....
the TROPHY needs a bigger box....
Pretty Damn Work!
