We headed out with very nice conditions first line in the water at 0645. I had 1 of my normal crew and 2 buddies that are going through training here before leaving to Japan in a couple weeks for 3 year tours. They have only been offshore a couple of times, so I had high hopes to follow Monday's catch of Dolphin. Unfortunately we had a very slow day 4 knockdowns / pulled hooks on Dolphin, but we did manage to catch 1 30 lb. Wahoo. It was John's biggest fish which was nice. We worked from 100 to 350 feet and temps from73-79, we worked nice looking water and some small weed lines I felt good about the baits and spread, but it just wasn't our day. We caught the Wahoo in about 160 of water.
Thanks for sharing a nice Wahoo and video. With mahi's moving an average of 20 miles a day, I guess that wave of fish has moved on... Maybe if we get some oil rigs around one day, they'll stick around a little longer!!!
