    tough weekend MHC

Well, it's easy to post gladiator type victory's, man versus goliath, a double, hell a triple, maybe a 100" fish!!!

Not too be for us this weekend. sat was very slow for us

Sunday had some more action starting out near the trawler with insane bait marks, FAT chad balls, birds diving in the dark , false albies crashing the surface, and no one around but us....thought we were in the right place for sure....had one short bite that did not come tight

moved over towards fighting lady's hookup...Congrats Shane..you guys are killing it.

I DONT UNDERSTAND>>>>>cooler water, bait everywhere, birds diving, BEAUTIFUL conditions...looked perfect...no BFT...

Move over to where fighting lady hooked up....hardly any bait on the sounder, warm ass water, no birds diving, no bait on the surface,,,,,looked dead as hell.....2 boats hooked up

After that we moved again trolling towards the trawler and about half way there saw sea wolf make a tight turn.......only three of us for a mile plus and sea wolf hooks up a double and about 30 seconds after they stop we get slammed....sweet, it's smokin the reel, game on.......SNAP

Pulled him in very short order.....

the break was 10' plus up from the leader???? small fray in the break.....are you kidding me....everything was right when the lines went in.....

any thoughts on why the fray there?? you think maybe as the fish was hooked up it pulled the line over the back of another one or something????
    real heartbreaker there.....

Congrats to sea wolf for landing both of there fish at 81" and 94" i believe.....

we stayed out well into the dark as 2 or 3 fish were caught late afternoon into early evening,,,,

had a run-off SE of the sea buoy about 10 minutes after dark......BIGGEST DAMN BLACKFIN YOU EVER SAW had to be 25lbs plus....DAMMIT ,,,,Black fins in sight of the hill......

Was going to stay up and go after them again on monday, but with the SW wind at 5-10 and no seas again.....gonna wait for a cool ne wind or something to make things move again....

GOOD LUCK TO ALL OUT THERE THIS WEEK>>>>>GO GET EM" BOYZ!!!

    Best Catch
The next bite on a jig.
I wish we killed them two. It was a pretty but tough 3 days for us.

I'm not there today and absolutely dieing inside. I can't wait to get back at it.

    Hey Curtis,
sorry about the leader mishap. No margin for error at all with these slobs. People think that a lure sliding up the leader during the fight can be the target for other fish, resulting in frayed or cut (in the case of king macks) lines.

What was the water temp where you hooked up the blackfin? Some hot water has been very near Morehead while our Frying pan water is FREEZING down here. Wouldn't surprise me if it fires off in the 30/30 to fairway to horseshoes area down here. The temps are right at 61 - 62 and the bait unreal!

Some of us (me ) were having a tough time up here (NE) on the full moon. Once I figured that out, I stayed away from the max tides. Maybe the new moon is having an affect too? I dunno. Regardless, sounds like you guys are off to a rip roaring start!!! Got get em.

    Hey Biscuit,

Water temp was about 64 I believe on one, but the other was definately colder than that

Also heard of a fish caught in the fairway area that was 60 something inches....a bit short over the weekend.

That explanation of the lure sliding up is also very likely option.....

If anyone catches a SLOB BFT with a pink crystal jag in his mouth....that chit is ours dammit
