    TOUGH DAY IN MY WORLD

Sorry to tweak everyones sunday, but I could use some positive thoughts.

My aunt has been fighting cancer for a year plus now and was doing much better after a radiation treatment for a small tumor that got into her brain.

Well that all headed south on friday and she went in the hospital, saturday they ordered a petscan and by this morning my mom and her sister are signing DNR orders and have just called in a priest

I am sure everyone has had that one family member that was the SHIT

My aunt was santa claus for my sister and I at Christmas every year, and did everything for everyone ALWAYS. She ROCKED...hands down coolest lady I have ever met.

The worst part I think is that she has a son who is 17 years old and a junior in high school. His father past away in a car accident about 5 years ago, and now his mom is fighting for her life and likely won't make it through the week

What I am asking for is some positive thoughts and prayers for those that do so that she may go painless and that her son have some ability to deal with the hell ahead of him.

Also some input on helping him would be appreciated, he is smoking a joint here and there I believe and I don't know if it is because he wants to or he is using it to deal??

Most of the uncles are going to give him the hardass "be a man BS" because they don't know any better....

What do I tell this kid when I see him, and how do I make enough impression on him to start a relationship where he will come to me with a problem instead of going to some IDIOT to get in major trouble.....he's got no where to turn and I want to change that

Sorry for the ugly morning news guys,,,,,and thanks for taking the time to read this...

I am on the road New Orleans bound here in about 2 hours to pick up my sister who attends TULANE university and then off to Houston tonight or tommorow morning to try and do something for my family.

    Tight Lines

I HATE CANCER. I can't imagine there being a soul on this board who hasn't been affected by the wretched shit. Your family is in my prayers. My sorry ass didn't make it to church today so KNOW that prayers are going up right now for you and yours.

Get your little cuz in a boat. Show him what thrills you. I've never smoked a joint that would do it for me like that wahoo in your avatar!

    God Bless,
    BW

    Curtis-

So sorry to hear about your aunt.... I to am familiar with what cancer can do to a family....especially when it's someone very special.

IMO, make her last days as pain free as possible ...talk about all the good times and make sure she knows that everyone will be OK after she passes....let her know that her 17 yo son will be taken care of and watched over....this is VERY important....

Take her son out and talk to him....obviously not the "be a man" speech...but the "I'm here for you" speech...and when I say "speech" I don't mean to be derogatory to glib....but give him some good words....let him know you'll be there for him and that he will NOT be alone after his mom passes....it will take a long while for him to get his head back on track....just make sure he's staying between the "ditches".....everyone responds differently in these times.

Good luck and may God Bless!

I sitting in a motel in Houston waiting to have a drain taken out of my neck after a cancer operation so your letter really hit home. I am sorry to hear about you loosing your aunt, bad things sometimes happen to good people. You asked about what to say to the seventeen year old but it seems to me you pretty well put the thoughts together in your letter to us. IMHO your shared love for this woman and genuine concern for her son will carry the day. I expect it will take some patience on your part but I expect he will come to count himself lucky to have you.

I'm so sorry to hear about your aunt Curtis. It's strange- this is the third brain cancer story I've heard this week. Eerie.

I'm sending out prayers for a peaceful passing, and for as easy a transition as possible for her son. I hope that you are able to connect with him and share your passion for the outdoors. Hopefully it will give him a positive outlet as he deals with this tragedy.

You guys rule.....thank you very much...

I was able to find a mileage ticket out of Wilmington by the graces of god....can you imagine getting a mileage ticket with 1 1/2 hours to departure....someone is on our side

I found a $150 ticket for my little sister from New Orleans 3 hours prior to departure...someone is really on our side

I am sitting in the Wilmington airport right now hoping that my 1 hour delay is just one hour and that I get to Houston at 6pm tonight as planned.

Thanks again for the kind words....
