Back in April of 06, I never thought I would an active member of another board again as all the ones I looked at, all I saw was bickering and bashing and people calling each other out. Bite Me Lou said that I had to take a look a this one (SFC) as it was not like that...ya right. Well ya, I was wrong...back then there were less than 5000 members and when I would log on maybe, 15 or on a busy day 30 people were logged on. Back then, maybe Box or Deep C would be called out once in a long while, but the rest of the board would squash that kinda quick and it was over.
As I sat and read the tips and ideas of the others and saw how people really wanted to help each other, I reached out with what little knowledge I have and tried to share this with you all, little did I know that I would soon be almost 3,000 posts deep. I do appreciate all you that follow/ read my reports and tips and thank you for all the kind comments.
One of the best things here are all the friends that I have made, some I have met, some I have fished with, others I hope to meet some day but never the less I still have and do consider you on my friends.
In the couple of years I have been here, I have seen it grow, grow fast, over 20,000 strong since I joined, and have seen a lot of growing pains, most have been worked out through time. A lot of attitudes from other sites were brought here, but over time most have kinda "seen the light" of how SFC is and how we are striving to be different from the "other sites", For this I thank you and welcome you all.
Lets keep this site # 1 and keep posting the great reports and tips that the rest of the sites wish they had...
    thanks for reading,

Ahhh...I remember it like it was yesterday. I was online searching to learn as much as I could about rigging a ballyhoo...christ I could barely spell it let alone know what to do with it. I came across this link to a video and clicked on it...what the?....I'll be damned if it wasn't a video of some crazy Carolinian sitting in a tree with a ballyhoo...two seconds into that vid I was in tears I was laughing so hard and said "Now this is the place for me"

I had never been a member of any forum site, but quickly became addicted. Now it's a staple of my every day routine.

So I have to say thank you to all of the founding fathers of SFC. Thank you for putting together, and keeping together, the best fishing resouce there is out there.

Like shoefish I was reading online learning how to do this offshore thing. Stumbled upon the site and have been hooked since. I can't say thanks too much! I have learned a ton and I am on here at least once a day.
Thanks to all that makes this site so great!

ONE THING I HAVE NOTICED WITH OUR STATS ON SFC....AND IT CONFUSES ME GREATLY

WITH THE MEMBERSHIP GROWTH WE HAVE SHOWN, WHY DO OUR DAILY STATS OF "WHO'S CURRENTLY ON ONLINE" ALWAYS HOVER ON THE APPX SAME NUMBER DAY BY DAY .....YOU WOULD THINK WE COULD AT LEAST AVERAGE 200 REGISTERED MEMBERS ONLINE FROM 7AM-5PM EVERY DAY ...AND AT LEAST 300 ONLINE FROM 8-10 EACH EVENING

VERY CONFUSING LIKE RIGHT NOW IT IS 9:30AM AND THERE ARE 86 OF US READING

Thanks for this thread BOX. I for one stumbled upon this site after looking up something for planning an international fishing trip. i lurked around fo a bit and decided to join. I am celebrating being a member for 6 months and I have enjoyed every minute of it. I have learned a lot from this site particularly the jigging and the bottom fishing reports from SeaBisquit,Merry Marlin and Capt Lee. The bluewater fishing is what I like to do when I travel to fish and I have learned a lot from those threads. We kid around a lot on SFC but at least this site doesn't have a lot of the bashing that i see on some other sites. I used to visit numerous sites but now I stick mainly with SFC. I still go to Kingfish connection just for the King Mackerel Tourn. info and to Frying Pan tower for local info. but this site is the one I really enjoy. Thanks John,Jer,BOX, and the rest of SFC for making this site possible.
