MAYBE MY TIME IS COMING SOON TO BE SPOOLED BUT SO FAR SO LUCKY FOR ME....

I STILL LOVE ALL 30 LB MONO WITH AN 80 LB TOPSHOT ON A TLD 25.....AND MINUS THE SITUATION OF A BLUEMARLIN TAKING ALL THE 30 MONO OUT OF HERE IN A NANA SECOND AND THAT CAN HAPPEN WITH 80 LB POWER PRO AS WELL..........I HAVE NOT HAD A PROBLEM.....AND CAN SAY I SHOULD BE AROUND THE 85% SUCCESS MARGIN USING ALL MONO ENTERTAINING LARGER FISH

I ALSO AGREE WITH TROPHY ON THE TYRNOS 30 WHICH I FELL IN LOVE WITH FISHING ON THE SEA SPLENDOUR WITH WHITEY.

Right on! The Tyrnos 30 is one of the "better reels" that I mentioned in my first post. The gear ratio is 5:1 (and 2:1 on the 2 speeds) on them and they have the upgraded HEG gears. HEG stands for "high efficiency gearing" which refers to the huge, oversized gears in the reels. Simply put, the larger the gear, the more pulling power you have with the reel and the easier you can turn the handle under a load.

Not to mention an aluminum frame, higher drag capacity (up to 33 lbs), and larger stock handle. On the 2 speed Tyrnos reels, you can buy the TIAGRA handles to put on them. This is what I did with mine and man does it make a difference! (This is not available for the single speeds.)

The Tyrnos blows the TLD's away and for only a fraction more in price. It sounds like you've already got the TLD25's though...

If you've got any questions about the TLD's or Tyrnos, please feel free to ask.

I totally agree. while I love the TLD's, the Tyrnos is a far better reel for the money.
