Matt. It is a royal PITA and it is so worth it. The Tog cannot resist the slocumb. Biologically speaking, Slocumb is a slang for the fat in the top of the shell. Just picked the word up from Otis. I do not know if it is biologically correct or even spelled right for that matter. By the way, DROOPY has competition . I put that slocumb in the minnow trap the other day after making the pics.

unfortunately, Droopy has gone to the big mud hole in the sky . seems i forgot to feed those voracious bastards for a couple days and Droopy got hungry and ate one of his smaller tank mates. found him dead on the bottom with half a mud minnow hanging out his mouth.

how many togs can you usually catch with one individual bait???

not sure about togs on one bait. but when we use clams on trebs like that, or clams with rubber ties, they also are very easy to wash / fall off the hook.

im thinking that if a bait will fall off if dropped too kwick, then i think a fish would yank that bad boy off first go round.

JMS-One crab will provide two slocumb baits. The picture was done without cutting it in half and sometimes I will use the whole piece when the water is super cold and the bycatch species are dormant.
JESSE JAMES-The tog will rob the slocumb so fast your head will spin. You get one shot per bait. If you get bit, you either hook him or get robbed. If you get bit and don't hook him. Reel it in and go again. If you can't keep clams on the hook, the slocumb is not for you. Very delicate. VERY EFFECTIVE!

are the scoters in that part of the bay by that time in november?
