I fish 95% plastics, after washing and drying them I apply PLEDGE (natural beauty).
I have been using it for about 6 years; it prevents skirt deterioration and seems to prevent the plastic getting gummy or stiff. Also it gives a nice lemon aroma.

I also put some conditioner(forget which brand) on my islanders before I put them away for the winter. I hope they are nice and soft when June comes around.
