Dang Jake I forgot to show you how to rig a GM for the north DMZ while we where down there If you get over Tim and I's way be sure to give a shout look forward to seeing you again and your welcome in Da Pit any day.
Indian Head IMO would'nt be a bad base to be stationed, if your into hunting and fishing. It's small and surrounded by water, and the base is loaded with deer. I think they have organized "bow only" hunts, and pull some trophys out. Theres all kinds of public hunting land near the base and boat ramps all over the County. As far as buying here, prices have gotten out of hand and as of yet seem to be holding steady. I'd keep the buying in N.C. and rent here. I'm thinking hard on running to N.C. myself. This was a great place to grow-up, the problems that its grown-up faster. If your looking to live in whats left of the country, check out Nanjemoy, it's about 25 mins from the base. The fishing in the area ain't what it used to be, but can be alright at times. Also keep in mind it's about 5 1/2 hrs to Oregon Inlet.
If somehow you find yourself WAY north of the DMZ...we'll show you some NE canyon style fishing........we're in the hunt for swordies big time this year.....
That's a great place to be for hunting and fishing, and if you ever need anything or want to fish or crab the bay, just let me know, I'm just 45 min up the road. Rob (foul hooked) is right up the road as well. However, we are short on crazy middle aged men running around with a camera shooting every possible thing that you CAN'T imagine!

Sounds good Jake. I know you were worrried about possibly the left coast when you we were talking some during the BFT trip after xmas. I know your family will be glad it's not on the west coast.
Nothing but another stop on your journey captain Jake. Sounds like it might even be a fun one!
Time will fly and you'll be home again (RETIRED!) before you know it.
Take care Jake and come back to see us every break you get.
