    Tilefish

    Hello All,

I don't want to sound like a broken record with the thread title, and a subject that has probably been beaten to death, but have to ask the best watermen out there on SFC. I have some ?'s for everyone and need to solicit advice from anyone. I have tried for tiles several times. I fish out of OC and can't figure out the trick and was hoping it could be a day saver when the tuna bite is slow. I have been out 6 times between 50-100 fthms and can't even get a sniff. What do I need to look for in order to get into them or a place to start? I am obviously in all the wrong places. Also, are the blue tiles in the same place as goldens? What's the vibe with time of year, water temp, structure etc... I have no clue. Any help would be appreciated.

Look for MUD. If the sinker doesn't stick when you first drop it down, move. Pretty simple other than that, but I have found that the muddy bottoms are key. Best of luck, I am further north so spots will not help.
