Thoughts on Wave Period and Fishing Trip out of IRI

At what point does a 2-3ft. wave become uncomfortable for the average only fish a few times a year kind of guy.

I'm talking a 28' CC that can handle slop if need be, but I don't want to beat the crap out of the crew.

I'm thinking tuesday morning for a trip out of IRI. Maybe trying to catch a few blues, and do a little bottom fishing. If it ends up being nice enough and the crew is down for it, we might try for a bluefin for a little bit before heading in, but I doubt that.

I think they are calling for SW winds on Tuesday. Shouldn't be too bad in the shipping lanes but you will be taking them side too and they will get worse towards the end of the day. Bring your shark rigs. A thresher was brought into Lewes today.

Dave use the 45-70 rule 4 to 5 foot or more 7 seconds or less is gonna be a shitty day course it does depend on the boat and the direction.

2-3 foot even close together 3-5 seconds, I would go all day long in my 23'. Secret here is the wind speed, wind duration and fetch that it is blowing across. If one of those is high up there then it might be a lil bumpy.

Got home yesterday at 3, fell asleep at 5, and woke up this morning at 7. Got me rest!

Sounds like the crew has already decided they don't want to do anything "crazy"( well crazy in their minds). Sounds like we'll be at the fenwick shoal until the first one starts puking!

You're right, but if I'm willing to head out of it, the crew will have to deal with it. Once I'm pointed E it's gonna take quite a bit to make me want to turn around. I've been known to crank and puke. In face the only time I didn't was when Chili made me drink all night before some close and steep swells in 0-0 fog.
