    Thoughts on Earl?

So I am supposed to fish for Drum and Tarpon in Oriental next weekend and am staying in Beaufort. I am a bit nervous about this storm. I think Wahoonbox used to be a meteorologist so I figured this would be a good place to get thoughts.

Used to be??????--- Just because someone has focused a little more on electromagnetic nuclear fussion research latley, and dabbled a bit in solving the Vlasov-Maxwell equations, people think he has abandoned his core field----- shhessh, give him a break--- he was just talking to me about a new weather research station he is lobbying to have built in Morehead City.

Don't worry about Earl for now, plan on your fishing trip...
Listening to the "doom and gloom" will only make you worry. If I went by what they say, I would only fish 10% 0f the time...

Ok this is the 5 day out track, does not look like it will be close to us at all... "Doom and Gloom" channel strikes again...
This is Capt. Lee's storm center reporting...

I've known a couple of hearty souls that have fished during some of the storms that have blown through here and were rewarded with some incredible catches. Just having the low around helps the drum bite so bring your crew on down and enjoy!! I have also seen some slick cam days right before and after a storm that would allow for good chance at tarpon.

@ Tim, "Gottafly Cantori" I like that.

Bring your rain gear some strong shoulders and good healthy supply of Aleve. Maybe a safety line or two for your torso.
The old drum will be on fire. The stronger the wind, the rougher the water......the more the bite will go off! Oh yeah, don't be scared to anchor with your transom just this side of the white water breaking. Trust me!

Looks like I am gonna fish tommorrow instead of this weekend. The weather looks to be slick calm. Maybe I will get a shot at a tarpon.

Never trust the weatherman. They mean well, but they can't get it right every time. I forfeited booking a trip on Sea Toy this past Sunday based on the forecast. Regretted it yesterday and even more now knowing Hunter had 14 whites while others whacked em pretty good too. Plan on your trip and if bad turns to worse....oh well, at least you made your attempt.
