If Ignorance is bliss, Why aren't more people happy?
Thanksgiving and spreading a bit of Christmas Cheer
For many of us this has been a tough year - The economy has been hard, the weather hasn't cooperated much, Many have lost jobs or have been working many more hours to keep our jobs - Yet most of us have many things to be thankful for.
As we enter the Holiday season, I ask and I'm willing to beg that you please keep those less fortunate in mind and specifically the kids of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Eastern NC and other less fortunate kids in Carteret County.
Some of these kids simply won't have anything under their tree this year without our support.
If you have a few extra toys around, are able to make a cash donation, your contribution would be greatly appreciated.
PAYPAL: director@bartabillfish.com
Please put "Santa Claus" in your Paypal
If you prefer to mail a check,

Some of the toys that the kids are looking for are;
Ping Pong Paddles and Ping Pong Balls
UNO
Checkers
Sorry (or any board games)
Thanks

Bump to the top - I just heard that a tough year for the Boys and Girls Clubs is going to be even tougher - For the first time in many years, the Salvation Army will be unable to provide a toy to each of the kids.
We really would like to make sure that every child goes home with something.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Fred,
It might be a good thing to provide some scope on the issue. How big is the Boys and Girls club (how many boys and girls are helped by the club)?

This is the time of year to give what you cannot afford to give. When you think you have it bad, I can assure you that there are many more out there that have next to nothing.

I have a Playstation and some games that I can part with.
I will bring it down next week.

Kevin,
The Boys and Girls Clubs of Coastal Carolinas serves about 1200 kids a year. Typically the Club in Beaufort sees about 85 kids daily, 90 daily at the Havelock Club, and 120 daily in Morehead City.

Got fish
Fred,
How are things going in terms of gifts, etc. How much is needed to make sure these kids have SOMETHING?

Right now, we've received a couple of hundred dollars in donations and are looking to raise about $2250.00
BTW: Donations are tax deductible.

Fred,
I'll send you a check Monaday for 1000. Although I know it isn't the reason for the season so to speak, but I hate to think of a kid not having anything. I know it may not solve all problems, but maybe it will help!
