    Terrafin / Roffers

I'm fishing out of S.C. and was just wanting some info on who you guys up there may use?
Are these the only two out there?
Maybe some feed back on what they do and don't offer?
Are they good about putting you in the general area of weeds, temps, etc?
Tight lines, and be safe out there! B.

I know up here in OC there are many different SST sources, and everyone has a favorite. In my opinion, Roff's is the best, but also the most expensive. I have never used it, but Terp SST (who is on this board) is another favorite. I also use Oceantemp.com and like it.

I had used Roffers several times and thought it was a pretty good product. I ordered an analysis for the VB Tuna Tournament last year. The day before I waited for the e-mail. The night before I waited for the e-mail, the morning of I waited for the e-mail. No show.

I called the next Monday to find out WTF and the gal told me they didn't have good sat shots so they did not do any analyses for that weekend. I asked her if she thought sending an e-mail to that effect would have been nice to allow those of us waiting for the analysis to look elsewhere? She didn't seem to understand that question. She did tell me I wasn't charged for that analysis request. How nice.

    I don't use Roffers anymore.

HAVE USED ROFFS FOR THE PAST COUPLE OF YEARS. HAS BEEN A GOOD SERVICE. SORT OF PRICY IF YOU GET THE REPORTS ONE AT A TIME. NC WATEMAN HAS A "CLUB" PRICE THAT LETS US GET 25 REPORTS FOR ABOUT $450. IF YOU CAN USE THAT MANY, $20 A DAY IS A SMALL PRICE CONSIDERING THE PRICE OF GAS, BAIT, ICE, ECT. I BELIEVE THEY ALSO HAD A DISCOUNT PRICE FOR 16 FOR ABOUT $375. IF THERE IS A LOCAL FISHING CLUB, YOU MIGHT CHECK WITH THEM ABOUT A DISCOUNT PRICE. THEY NEED A MININUM OF 15 PAID ORDERS TO GIVE YOU THE DISCOUNT.

fatbaby2, I use Terrfin and like it. Will say it took some work to get to were I could use it accurately...but I like to chose where I fish more than letting Roffers decide for me. I am also looking at a couple of others. Witch ever one you pick, look at it over a weeks time to follow the warm or cold water eddies as they move up your coast.

I think Roffer's is very good in a tourney situation...for everyday use I subscribe to Oceantemp.com and am very happy so for, charts are very easy to use and they keep you updated via email if they are going to be late putting up a chart or any other issues.

In the past years I have used Terrafin for everyday looking and Roffers when I had no clue as where to fish. This year I tryed Hilton and Im very Impressed. I had trouble figuring out all the info on the site so I called the number they had posted and 3 days later Mr Hilton him self called me up and spent as much time as I needed to understand the info . Thats customer service. I will still get a roffers from time to time when looking for Mr Marlin.

Thanks guys, I knew that ya'll would come through! You guys are great, fished a local king tournament out of Georgetown SC, and bustesd. Could'nt keep the Mahi off our rigs. Temps inshore were cold, most of the big boys ran way down the ICW to find the wamer water.

Tight lines to all,....and thanks again! B.
