Taking Pictures, Right Place, Right Time

I love shooting pictures and I have a lot to learn. But one thing I am learning is you need to shoot a lot of pictures as you can never be sure what you'll miss if you are not snapping away.

    Speaking From Experience,

I like to study my subject, wait untold hours and snap at just the right moment. It takes years to learn that "eye", it's all discipline! Yah right All kidding aside I also do like talking picture's, just don't know how to post them yet. Not many trip's go by were I don't get a few "good" pic's. One thing that I do is when I get a pic that I like or think may be memorable to the person (fighting/holding their fish, awkward moment, etc.... Is to go down and get hard copy's made and send them along. I absolutely love my digital camera, water proof, shock proof, clear, etc..... The only common problem with them that I see, is that folk's tend to leave the "moment's" inside instead of developing them and sharing em with those that would enjoy them. Think about it, that picture may be the fondest memory a kid may have one day!
With a particularlly "special" moment, I'll get a 5x7 made and put it in a frame and send it unannounced. I can't begin to tell you some of the responses I've gotten over a $5.00 investment. Had a doctor friend of mine and his teenage son on the boat this winter for example. Well they were going through the typical "father/teenage son" thing for awhile, nothing serious, just annoying. Well we happened to be on some particularly pretty rock (striper's) and they both caught some nice fish. Took the pic of them both holding them up, side by side at the back of the boat. At that moment all hostility's were gone. That framed photo now sit's on the Doc's desk at work.
Got to give credit where it's due, "Deep C" said one time "that we are in the memories business", like him or not he was right! While I'm not a big-time charter owner like some on here, that doesn't matter I fish. I keep a decent boat, decent gear for the opportunity to share what I have experienced over many year's out there. I guess that's really the only reason I keep a boat. Frank

Just a hint - for about $150.00 you can pick up a photo quality printer and print all of the $5.00 memories you'll ever want

Some of those printers even have built in card readers - you won't even have to figure out how to "get the photos off the camera"
