Spent an hour or so today fishing with my newest fishing buddy - my 8yr old daughter Sydney (AKA Sydzilla). We've been making regular outings to Lake Johnson near our house for elusive varieties of panfish. Today was a great day. We ended up with about 30 in the bucket in no time and celebrated with a sponge bob ice-cream on the way home. Sydney's really getting the hang of this and motivates me (Old man and the lake analogy maybe?). Any ways we had a great time together and we're both looking forward to the next trip.
I had a couple of nice pictures of today's catch, but learned that the file sizes were exceeding the limits so you'll have to take my word on the numbers. I was able to upload this one of Syd and one of her most pretty fishes of the day:
Great report and pic Ken. Nothing like spending time with the youngsters, especially when they are catching fish. Sounds like you all had a great day. Hope the family is doing great.
Barely old enough to realize what I was doing and some "pusher" hands me a cane pole with a spreader and next thing I know I'm catchin' perch and sunnys 2 at a time out of the grassy shallows of a tidal creek next to my home. I was addicted before I hit 1st grade.
It only got worse as the years went on. Soon perch weren't enough, I had to be out in the bay after stripers and blues. Then on the coast catching trout and flounder. Next it was offshore chasin' whitey and schoolie tuna.
When my "problem" reached it's zenith I found myself in far flung corners of the world hoping for granders and double digit days.
........The moral of the story....
Take a kid fishin'. It's an addiction they can live with the rest of their life and never forget the great times with dad out on the water.
Brother Ken,

Way to go Sydney! Nice catch! Come fish the ocean with Lil' Biscuit and I anytime.
