Swell Rider Sportfishing..Report 07/15/08.. Business as usual!!

For starters it's been real nice fishing closer to home..I've had the boat home for the last couple of weeks running out of Wrightsville Beach, 15 min from my front door, " NICE". anyway we were welcomed with a nice washing machine type ocean this morning as we head out on another Bottom Fishing Charter. 15 miles into the run and the Nav Net goes off, do all the troubleshoot I can but it's on to plan "B". I always run on compass headings so I don't have to solely rely on my electronics, I guess this came in handy today. Did quite a bit of prospecting today since all I had was my bottom machine, kind of old school but not really. found some really interesting looking bottom that we set the hook on. It was like waves of fish, First nice big Pinkies, then a bunch of Jolt head porgy's, then the Sea Bass, All the time I was Jigging with a 8oz Hammered Diamond jig, I must have caught 20 scamps measuring 18 to 19 inches, did manage a few keepers out of it as well, the Reds were all keepers, no shorts there. We topped of the one fish box with all the bottom fish they wanted and then headed in to look for some Kings. The 386 was loaded with Bait and Kings, it was all you wanted Kept 1 limit of Kings lost a few nice ones but most of all just had a blast!!! Well 4 more Bottom Charters and Im off to Cape May to dig in on some BFT!!! can't wait, Capt Ken
