SWB outta MHC 3/5/09

I was determined not to miss a chance to get offshore like we had yesterday. I thank the Lord for the slick seas and nibbles I had yesterday. With E40 and gang leaving at 5 I had to get home from work, hook up and play catch up. Planer in at 12:15 then the WWB, Planer growls very hard!! Missed, crank it in and the ole Islander is missing over half it's skirt, how the Hoo missed the hook I don't know! Reset it and get a couple more lines out and start SW looking for E40. Mark some very good stuff on the 35-50FTM. break and the Planer screams off like I have never heard. Crank it in and fish attacked the planer, braid mangled up, rig gone to the deep

Rerigged the deep bait and kept working the break, getting a peanut on the short rigger, several more knock downs, get a nice gaffer on the WWB. E40 calls and says they are getting a good bite so I work that way and run into the nice rip they are on. Flat line pops and a baby Cuda, released, WWB goes off another nice gaffer on ice. Finish of with another gaffer then a 15lb. Blackfin on the WWB.

Not bad for the amount of time I had to work with, missed alot strikes but the nasty little lure Capt. Joe Shute tied up for me accounted for all but one of my fish and got hammered alot. There are some monster Hoo's out there and I hope to have another shot at them soon!

We get our stuff stowed around 6 and head for the hill @ a nice 35kt's, beautiful run together in the dark, get the boat on the trailer @7:30 with blood on the deck and meat in the box!!!! Not record #'s or anything but for me in the little boat, first week of March, Priceless!!!!!

Box, I told E40 I had something pretty in the floor of the boat on the way in blood trail leading to the fish box!!!! I missed a few fish but I was just glad to get out there and hear some clickers go off, the monster planer hits really got me wired. Can't wait for the next trip to the deep blue!!!!
