Well I have to disagree with you on this as I work out a local fish house and I see what comes in there as far as imports and it is sad.
You walk into our local grocery store and you can smell the fish section, most of the shrimp have an odd odor from what they are dipped in to hold the color as wellas their freshness.
So you eat the imports, I'll eat what comes off my local boats and support my local economy at the same time...my 2 cents...![]()
I went to BJ s the other day and and was able to find us seafood although some were from china etc, those I didn't buy. I try to make it that i only buy US stuff in general
Also look at your Dog and Cat food I rec you only buy US there also .
Man since the government does such a great job of regulating our food quality (fda) we sould DEFFINATELY let them control our healthcare.![]()
What amazes me here is that the US allows products to be imported into this country that do not meet the basic safety requirements that we require of US produced items.
Plain and simple - We are putting Americans out of work by allowing cheap imported crap in. To me, the answer is pretty straightforward - Hold the imports to the same safety standards that American products are required to meet...
I'm not just talking about seafood - I'm talking about the majority of products imported from Asia...
Only "wild caught" for me.....I have to say though it's difficult for me to find domestic shrimp here in CT....I've even told my local store that I would pay more, but I guess I'm one of very few so that it doesn't make $en$e for the local purveyor for a small number of consumers......
