Sunday and Monday is looking better

Don't know if this SST shot with analysis will work for some of you out there but there is a pretty rip zone just north of the BR. Right on top of the 30 fathom line. As well as a nice backflow just offshore of the Swansboro hole.
Also a nice rip zone out on the 100 Fathom line.

When you get here if you can with JAVA use the options menu. Lots of neat stuff. It's a free site buty has been pretty accurate in the past.

Went yesterday and wish I did not!!
Pulled up the knuckle and out the inlet we went. A little bumpy on the ride out. Got to the knuckle and as usual the seas jumped up a bit. Cleared the knuckle headed toward the rip and backflow I had seen on he chart. Well, it spread out a little bit after the knuckle still with a NE chop on top of it, then progrssively got worse. Punched in the 90 ft drop area by way of the 14 buoy and wish I didn't. Got to the 14 buoy area with the intentions of heading out to the 100 line where I had seen the backflow and rips, and it was blowing a cool 20 knots out of the NE and at least a solid 3-5 foot every FEW seconds. Bowed our heads in shame and dug in for the LONG 2 3/4 hour ride back to the barn. The lighthouse never looked so good!!

Note to self no more trips when there is a chance of a so called slight NE blow. Found out from a buddy of mine (kingchaser) that went out on his boat with us. Said he put baits in as we were turning around pulled for about 15-20 minutes took 3 over the bow and headed to the barn too.
Oh well, you can't win 'em all the time.
