Striper, Umm Stripper report.

This is a stripper report. Ya know those beautiful stripped bugers that we catch in the northeast in the spring and fall.
I got ta tell ya I have not fished as much as I would have liked this year but I did get to fish 3 different ways that I have not done before. And met some great people doin it.
1. I targeted and caught Thresher.
My son got his first, Thanks Dman for bein there.
2. Target and catch Wahoo thanks to Wahoonbox and Cap't Terry
3. fished for and caught Strippers, Using planner boards,
14-18 lines in the water, Never saw anything like it.

Heres the deal.
I'm walkin out the door Thursday when the phone rings.
Nothin special goin on I'm just goin out for a beer.
Now, I dont answer phones but I see it's Proheat
and call him back.
Wow am I glad I did not miss that call.
Man says, I know it's short notice but would you like to go
stripper fishing tomorrow in Soloman Md. Hey, let me get
back to you cause my son may be comming down for
the weekend. So I call my son and sure enough he plans to
come down on Friday. I said, Cool, Just need to know whats
goin on cause I just got invited to fish this weekend. My
son, God bless his soul, says ain't no thing I'll come next
week, Go for it.

Packed up and rode.
What an adventure.

This site is incredible. I met Proheat here and got to fish
on friday with Flatbottom and Capt d.

OK. Enough pre amble On to fishing.

I read about planner boards here but never could
understand how they work. Ya got to see it.
I'm not real good with the abstract concept, but if ya
show me i'm good.

So, We run out a ways and the mate puts the planner boards out. Then he starts feeding the lures out. Holy cat Hit batman, 5-6 lines on each board, then he feeds lines off the port and starboard and aft rod holders. Oh my god, When a fish hits its gonna be a snafu. NOT.
1St fish was Flats, Hit, went behind the boat, after a bit of crankin, Put him in the box. Good job.
Next was Capt D, Rod bent, Get on it, he was,
Another in the box. I think he might have fallen in like with
this fish,. See photo.
Proheat was on next.
Down goes the rod, fight him in. Everything is goin good,
Oops, a planner board decides to flip and head for the
stern. Damn, Got the fish and all heck broke
loose. We landed Proheats fish and got busy with the
lines.
It was a SNAFU, But everyone on the boat
got into making it right again. Wasn't long before we were fishing again. Damn good crew. I'm impressed.

So, now we cant fish planner boards anymore cause it's gettin pretty snotty. Flat says, Hey man, you aint caught no fish,
I says, aint no thing, been a good trip, (I didn't really mean it but was tryin to man up) the mate says, You gonna catch a fish. Cool. I did to. Biggest Stripper I ever caught and the smallest of the trip at 35". Well, We had 1 more to go to limit out. Took a while and I kinda took a nap until I heard the yellin about fish on. Proheat brought in the last one of the trip.
they didn't really need me to land it but I think Flat got a kick out of wakin me up. Thanks man, Wouldnt want to miss it.

I'm gonna follow this with some pics of the fish, they were all 35-39". Oops, don't have mine but I'm sure we will get some follow up here.
Awesome trip guys, I got to see the good, the bad and the ugly of planner boards and meeting you all made for a great experience.

It was great to get back out on the water with friends!!
The weather was a little snotty, but it didn't stop our SFC Crew and Kyran Lynn Charters.
I had a great time and am looking forward to our next trip.

Looks like a good time was had by all. I was wondering how the striper fishing was out of Solomons Is....I spent quote a bit of time in Solomons Is over the last 6 weeks....spent a couple nights at Stoney's and the place next door.....have to keep that mind the next time I'm spending time down that way.

cause that little cold I was fighting off didn't like the fact that I went out to play on Friday and I fell like I been hit with a mac truck! That and the wifes x-mas party at work put the last two nails in my ass for the weekend and still dragging today. But was it worth it? Damn Skippy!

Ahhhhh, great trip indeed! I will have to post up my pics when I get a sec.
