    still a virgin

I'm new to this site and newer to the pursuit of BFT and I hope I can gain a little insight from the pros here.
Looking for some help on my Tuna rigs. I'm using 80w's 2spd spooled with 100# Ande then Flourocarbon 400# windon's terminated to a 300# BB snap with 2.3mm crimps and clear anti chaffing tube. I've dropped a small boone skirt over the snap to hide it. I'm using 330# flourocarbon leader on my Pink Islanders. They are a 5' leader with antichaffing tube and dbl. crimps on the snap end and all of that hides neatly under the skirt. On the business end is a Mustad 10 with green anti-chaffing spring and a single 2.3 crimp. The anti-chaffing tube doesn't seem to allow the hook to swing free. They are set up as a pin rig with #9 wire in the hook crimp.
Pulling two of these on top and one on a #6 planer with a rubber band double snap release. I'm not using any chin weights.

All of this looks pretty and makes sense but I've figured I can learn as much in 5 minutes asking questions of those who would know rather than trying to figure out what went wrong after the fact.

    Go easy, I'm a virgin.

The last time I heard the words"TRUST ME"

It was followed up with the flash of a goverment badge and the words, "I'm here to help." So I'll hang on and hopefully not to my ankles.
That's why I asked the question...........
Rather find out while sitting in my warm den with a cup of coffee than in a pitching cockpit with those first time jitters, the chaos and all of those "AW SHEEIT's that follows.

Welcome Bite. What a great question! I was just starting to gear up for BFT just in case we get a school off of Va.Beach. I'd like to hear from the pros as well. Hell, if anyone has even read a book on it, I'd like to hear from them.

Hey Bite, do you know how much max. drag force those 80W are putting out. Are they Penn's or Shimano's?

They are Penn 80TW's with Cal's 2 speed conversion. At Strike thay are set at 33 lbs. Not sure how much that gives me at Full but I'm sure one of the pros would know. To be honest with you, yanking on a dock cleat at 33 lbs was enough for me. I had visions of something breaking and getting slammed in the head with a spring scale so I figured enough was enough.

I had the drag on my Ti 80w blueprinted and I can get max drag about about 65 lbs vs. stock of 45. I hope that will be enough. I always thought it was stupid for a 50LRS and a 80w to put out the same 45lbs. What did they think I wanted to buy the 80 for anyway. Any 80 frame can handle more than 45lbs.
