Still Think'n 14 June Virginia Beach

Late report...just catching up before I head out of town for the next couple weeks...gonna suck not being able to fish..I know the Tuna will show up while I'm land locked !...

Got to Owls Creek at 0400 and launched Still Think'n. 2 Ducks was there getting ready to get U/W on their beautiful Osprey. We discussed locations and got the heck out of there. Beautiful run out with a slight swell inshore that quickly turned into slick calm conditons about 20 miles out. Got to our mark which was the 150 line in 30 fathoms and put out the spread over some great marks. Pounded that mark for about an hour and then the rest of the fleet showed up. We pulled one gaffer out of the marks but the tuna refused to come up from about 200 feet down.

Decided to go overboard and ended up at about 500 fathoms and found a pretty good weed line which we trolled for a little bit and pulled another couple of Mahi and then decided to head back in to try and find mister YFT.....found another pocket of water in about 50 fathoms at the 100 line which we again pounded for a good long time but could get nothing to come up from the deep. Water was consistently 76 degrees in the shallow and up to 80 degrees and cobalt blue in the deep water (500 fathoms plus).

Still no love for the tuna for a few weeks now but I"m sure it's gonna turn on soon, probably over around the Canyon or on the fingers. Heard of a few Blue ones released, Trax released a white early and had 4 blue Marlin in his spread. We had a spanish Mackeral out with a Get Reel Big Pappa that got destroyed by a hungry dolphin.

Nice ride back home, little bumpy towards the end of the day but nothing the Southport couldn't handle with comfort
