    SST and NC coast

I always look at the SST shot out in front of NC at least 2x a day.

I have always wondered what makes the the stream take a curved path, kink or a slight bulge to the east from about just north of the Same Ole to about the Swansboro hole and then start tracking back to its original path? Is it because the irregular contour of the 20 fathom line to the 100 fathom line in this area ? The speed of current inside the stream or a combination of both?. It is even there when a nice backflow comes up the stream.

Always seems to have a little kink in it at the above area. Anyone else notice this.

    Hmmmm?

I think Wrightsville beach has some kind of force field that fends off temp breaks inshore of 150 fathoms. Seriously i have noticed this on and off for the last couple of years alot more prominent than in the past. Good question maybe all the light NW wind we have been having keeps it pushed off.

Gotta be the pull of the Bermuda Triangle

My guess is that it has something to do with Fryingpan Shoals and Lookout Shoals

There seems to be a funky contour in that area from 20 fathom to 100 fathom. I wonder if it squeezes the stream down and might make it bend. The break always seems to be very prominent right there. I would be the current is a little faster too. As you can tell the my work load is finally starting to slow down here at the office.
