Two weeks ago someone caught a 200# bluefin in the surf in Dewey Beach. That's the best we got.

I would venture to say that the best fishing in the world is unreachable by most sportfishing boats. (too far out)

    Here are some for consideration:

    Ascension Island
    Bermuda
    Costa Rica
    Venice, LA
    Islamorada
    Venezuela
    Outer Banks
    OCMD in September

My all time favorite is East of the Gulf Stream.

Huntington Creek, Huntington Canyon, Utah..........Native browns, rainbows, cutthroats and an occasional brook. But the 7 lb native brown.........top that.

the next one is always better...
so i gotta throw out Cape May, NJ!!! just cause I gotta represent my home turf but in fairness to the thread I would say the Hatteras/MHC area (prob Hatteras). Fishing for GBFT is unreal, yft in the spring, aj's on the jig, wahoo and kings all over, and loads of sharks (which i love to fish for) that i don;t see anyone really targeting down there. There's also something to be said for how nice the people seem to b, and how pretty the land is down there. By no means am I an aficionado of the area, these are just my opinions based off of past trips that were incredible!! However, I may b changing my vote after Deep's juicy response...i'm all hot and bothered right now after reading that post, thanks a lot Deep
