ALL THESE VOTES AND STILL....NO PICS...NO STORIES...NO PROOF OF LIES!!!
THE HORROR!
I second the above motion. The judge and jury need the facts, post em up.
As far as credits - don't have a clue on how you get them or what they are for - so I dont know what to say.
As far as Destin goes,
it is a 12 month fishing location
Variety of species is incredible - I have caught, Redfish and trout all 12 months of the year. In the fall there is a great run of bulls right off the beach. Cobia fishing is incredible, I witnessed the FL state record being caught (as of 1993) can't remeber the exact weight but I think it was around 120 lbs or so. I have caught the cobias from boat, beach, peir, in the ocean, in the sound and in the bayous.
I too caught my first Wahoo there, along with my first Blue Marlin.
Caught my personal best Kingfish at 42lbs there (not world class...but it is my best).
Now other than fishing that make it a great destination, in my opionion they have some of the most beautiful beaches in the USA. The people are super friendly, it is different than most FL beach towns, not so touristy as some of the more popular destinations.
I was there from 92-95 while stationed at Eglin AFB, it is where I really got bit by the off shore fishing bug.....it was a great place to be for a young man.
By picking it I don't mean to demean any other place, I love the Outer Banks (I go often), The Keys are great been many times, Miami is one of my favorites (and I think most underrated Tarpon fishery), and there is something to be said for DE, MD, NJ spots which I frequent these days.
I just have a soft spot for the Redneck Riveira...
I agree whole heartedly. Where else can you hunt rabbit, geese, deer, ducks, turkeys, peacocks, goat, sheep, hogs, wild dogs, ground fowl, all on horseback with your gear stowed on minature donkeys. Come back to the lodge and fly fish for wild koi or trap snapping turtles for the pot. Sportsman capital of the world - Tyaskin, MD. Thanks Biebs you just gave me an idea on how to get rid of all these frickin animals.![]()
