Specks in the surf.......

Went Speck fishing today on a high tide falling, loaded down with waders, rain gear & MirrOlures, ready for anything that swam. I took along a positive attitude, a warrior's alertness & a hunter's eagerness to bring home the prized trophy.... a citation Speckled Trout.

I fought the elements of wind, rain & rough surf. Search every hole, trough & point I encountered. The odds were stacked against me, but I fished hard for several hours & finally...... returned home, cold, wet & exhausted, without a bite, without a fish, without any success, but still feeling victorious for having tried.........ICM

Both small boat fishermen and surf fishermen alike nailed the large speckled trout just east of rough point on shacklefort banks at Beaufort inlet today. Unfortunately I was inside a warm office repairing reels and rigging bluefin baits for other people to use.

I was out there yesterday at dark with no luck I ended up busting my ass and fell alll the way in, I got one bite and watched a guy walk up and catch a 3pounder on his second or third cast.

Its been a tuff bite it seems the last couple of days..

Trolled MirrOlures today & caught 2 x 18" ( kept ) & 2 Bules ( released ) all caught on 808 series 5 with red hooks - all others colors unproductive.....ICM
