Speaking fishing - slang terms for a Greenie

Im just going to reel them off as they come into my mind.

Crimp A metal sheethe used to pinch a larger diameter line ...used in place of a knot

Balyhoo A small baitfish ... ubiqutous as an offshore bait used nude and rigged behind many baits.

Treble Hook A hook with three hooks off of one eye

Circle Hook A hook that circles back into itself. Known for hooking the fish in the li as opposed to the gut. Made for tag and release fishing. The object of much contreversy and debate.

J-Hook Old school fish hook in the shape of a j. Known for lip hooking, gut hooking, ass hole hooking, thumb hooking, eyeball hooking, tail hooking, any or all of the above ... it will hook your ass. Wherever it lands.

Tail wrapped A fish that ate your bait and than got its tail wrapped up in your fishing line. In other words ... a serious pain in the ass. Often known to kill BIG fish due to the stress it puts on them in the fight.

False Hooked A fish that either went to eat your baiat, missed and ended up getting hooked on another part other than its mouth... or a fish that just so happens to get snagged by your hook regardless of the situation.
