    Southport Grouper - 8/3

    Finally was able to sneak away for a day of bottom fishing! Been trying all summer but the last few months have been crazy busy between work and other commitments.

    Weather was a little sloppier than expected but the hot grouper bite made up for it. My buddies new 23' Parker handled it well, even on anchor and the fish chewed. Gags, Scamps, Reds, even caught my first Lobster on rod/reel!

    Probably caught 25-30 keeper grouper throughout the day, pulled 9 Reds off the last stop.

    I'm keepin' a close eye on Sunday's weather, may try to take another shot at them this weekend.
