I THINK THE PROBLEM HERE IS THAT BOTH WRIGHTSVILLE AND MHC (82 MILES APART ) WANT THE SHOE' AND THE TROLL' TO BE BERTHED IN EACH ONES RESPECTIVE PORT!!! AND UNDERSTANDABLY SO....

if your not looking to head that far south (ie morehead/wilmington) the hampton roads area VA beach has great fishing. we had yft through feburary . we had 7 swords. the run is longer, but the fisherman are very friendly as are the charter guys espically that time of year. we have some guys that frequent this board here in va that fish offshore as well as two other fishing boards that a lot of people use to network. THIS ONE YOU DON"T HAVE TO GOT THROUGH ALL THE CHIT THOUGH to get a good answer to a ? or feel like you will get slammed. va beach is 10 min from a large airport. typical runs are from 50-80 miles. normally 55-65 nm. 2 canyons within range and if you run south there is the cigar and some good edges. the outer banks are great, but just a long way from the airport.

there are a lot of recreational guys in oi and hatteras that frequest this board and others. the charter guys are a bit tough to deal with at times though. but the fishing is great when weather opportunities present themselves.

all around through the winter for convience and fishability i would recomend morehead due to proximity to the stream.

If you are thinking about staying the whole winter esp Jan in MHC you need to call now for your slip. I know they are hard to find and keep when everyone and their brother is in MHC, Beaufort, Atlantic Beach for the Commercial Bluefin Season. We already have our slip and it was hard to get that one in Aug.

We have made all the arrangments and the SEA SPLENDOUR will be arriving at Morehead City Yacht Basin sometime in the first week of November and it looks like you rednecks will be stuck with us Yankees in your town untill the Big Rock is over . We will be in slip C-50.
