What a beautiful day to be on the water today, little soldiers locked and loaded and looking for a fight!!!

Unloading at the Town Creek ramp turned into a adventure as the guy beside us had something happen I've never encountered. While walking back to the truck to grab gear I hear something coming up behind me, then boink I see something go rolling by at high speed the guy goes to park his trailer and one of the front axle tires, rim and hub came off the spindle and took off across the parking lot, glancing off another trailer then scoots over into the marsh between the ramp and the Beaufort Boardwalk, took afew minutes but we recovered it.

Time to put some water between us and land and Phil and myself are off. At the inlet we fall in behind the Impulse and I'm faced with a choice: go with the Charter guys or head south to our tried and true fishing grounds that have been kind to us. When Cameron heads NE I keep motoring south then turn SE towards the 14 Buoy, find a ton of current near the 90 so we push off a bit then set out and wait. Wait and wait some more, radio dead silent, the guy from the ramp catches up and starts in the current. Soon he says he has put a couple BFT in the box, then a couple shingles and has a sail in the spread???? He has to be pretty dang lucky, cause we worked alot of water along with alot of other boats with nary a nibble.

I wish we had made a left turn at that light back there but it's fishing, lunch time we pulled the plug but not before finding some trash to fish around before bottom bouncing. 15-17 ft Bayliner ski boat, with a nice Bimini top and a Force OB all the way from Florida folks only thing missing was a couple hundred bailers that were no where to be found.

Stopped at the "save the day" hole and snagged some fat BSB, big Grunts and one juvie Gag. Only Mahi of the day grabbed a chunk of squid wing freelined out back, little guy may have been a foot long at best, mighty mite throwed the hook like a pro, grow some more little guy and we'll see you in a month or so! Great ride in, supper was great and now I'm hitting the rack with dreams of the next trip!
