SOS to Box, Hotrodmarlin, and the rest of SFC's southern pride

Hello all,

Well it has been too long since I have headed offshore in search of something to fight. If the weather is with us, that will all change this week. A buddy of mine has a 48' Ocean sitting at Masonborough Inlet, and if all goes well we will be driving through the night on Wednesday to do some fishing for a few days.

Now your NC bait rigging, your tactics, and your results are legendary. We are just a couple of yankees who are used to pulling plastic. If any of you have any words of advise on baits, where to go, what might be offshore this year, etc, we would be indebted to you. Also, if any of you have boats in that area, we should hook up for some cocktails back at the dock.

For rigs...just rig up several ballyhoo pin rigs with chin weights. I like the mustad 7692's. Get you plenty of sea witches. Blue/white..white/blue

Shoe- I plan on fishing Wed and Thurs out of Wrightsville as long as the weather looks good but I won't be there the weekend. The yellowfins are out there with plenty of wahoos mixed in- it's just a matter of finding the warm water. I'll check the satellite shots later in the week but until then I don't know where I'm fishing. Call me 704-201-4844 and I'll let you know how I do on Wed and if you are fishing Thurs maybe we can hookup. Not sure what kind of help you need with the baits/spread but I'll be happy to tell you what little I know.
These southern tuna might not take well to yankees so you might want to talk s-l-o-w-e-r and try to say ye haw instead of fish on. Get a Hank Jr CD and I'll teach ya the secret tuna dance too- but don't tell nobody where you learnt it from.

Now THIS is what they mean by Southern Hospitality- not one day after I post this up and I've got phone numbers, local reports, and possibly some Box-rigged-baits to help try to get us on some fish. That's what I'm talking about!

Now if the weather works out we'll be in business! I can't wait to get down there.... I haven't smelled tuna blood in far too long...

I just found out that "Moppo" is docked at Seapath Marina. Is that near any of you guys?
