Sonar range meeting MHC WED. night

Well I hope that the navy takes the sonar range somehwere else. Except for my-self, Chuck Laughridge, Joe Albea and one charter capt. from the Hatteras area there was no representation from the fishing industry or any city or county officials. There were no local charter captains or commercial fishermen present. There were a few condervation groups there speaking on behalf for turtles and whales.

That really blows that no one showed up. It doesn't surprise me though. The Navy does a good job of keeping these public comment meetings under wraps until the last minute. Not any real advertising in places where people affected will know. They did the same thing up here this summer. They had planned on closing down a huge area of inshore tuna spots. Lucky we had some good publicity and they moved the testing grounds pretty far off shore. Still the attendance of the charter captains and such was low. I hope things work out for you guys.
