Something tells me
Running northeast might have been a dumbass idea.
Anyone else noticing the fact that Ike hasnt turned west yet? I have, considering rain band #1 is about 4 miles away, seas are in the neighborhood of 14-17ft with a random 20+ thrown in for fun. Big fatass swell out of the southeast. |

haha, seriously...
oh yeah, we are down one thruster. that means we only got 5. we are making a whopping 4 and a half kts. and 1 of our other thrusters is running a bit warm. for those keeping score at home, current position 27.35.0N 089.51.7W. |

keep on that NE or even more north track and then you will need to head east as the swell will be on your beam I think, I assume you steaming 45 to 60 degrees.

i just got douched out on the bridge wing, camera is finishing the charge on the camera... ill put some pictures up in a few. long as we got comms...
1800 27.35.2N 089.51.4W Heading 065 COG 070 Spd 4.5kts Wind 20-27kts @ 060 Seas 16-18ft occasional 22+ Heave of 18ft Pitch 5 degrees Roll 8 degrees (all measured 22ft above waterline) Gotta love people gettin sick at dinner.

Just saw the latest update and they are still calling for it to turn West. But I got to tell you, it definitely looks like it is moving more NNW than WNW to me.
I'm not sure they are getting this one right. |
