well i decided against sending my picture to the weather channel...
about 5 min after this was taken, we received a pan pan call from a tanker 14 miles south of us. they lost a man overboard. terrible feeling in my stomach. i could hear everyone on the bridge of their ship screaming trying to get turned around to help their shipmate. the coast guard might be sending a helo out (120miles) to see if they can assist. but the weather is gettin shittier out here, and so is my mood at the moment |

well sad news from south of us, the ship that lost their buddy, had to abandon the search. their stability has been compromised and are now laboring their way back up to southwest pass.
![]() the uscg helo had to turn around cause the weather is to rough. as for us, we are holding position making a blistering 1.2kts of headway. so far, we have tore some shit up, but not lost anything. well thats not entirely true, my f*ckin oakleys went for a swim care of a 75kt gust. |

For what it's worth....
I was telling Gringo about this thread and he just said he'd rather be on that ship during a hurricane than stuck on some squat, dinky little island with no rudder and no bow....
