    Hey,

I can remember a few years back having to assemble an entire matchbox city, there were several buildings, and streets, and car lifts, fire station, car wash. The assembly was UH so so, THE STICKERS, OMG!!! I think I started at 10:00pm Dec 23 in attic on and off. On christmas eve wife and I plus 2 bottles of wine later spent until 2:30am finishing the stickers. You really should of seen what it looked like at that time in the morning, especially after a couple of bottles of wine. I can remember telling her we really dont need that one, they'll never know its not there. There must have been a thousand stickers.
I can remember handing them down out of the attic to her telling her, dont ever by anything that needs stickers ever again dear. I then was onto the bicycle after that, she reassumed finishing her wrapping, we fell a sleep around 4:30am.
At 6:00 am it sounded like a BOMB gone off on the bedroom door, telling us to get up Santa came.

Gotta Love the kids and christmas.

Last night it paid for itself.....

The Captain took aim.....I was looking the other way watching TV with Granddad.....I hear the nerf gun release the tell tale sound that only a nerf sniper rifle makes.....I hear Nanna squeal......then I hear The Captain go into a hysterical uncontrollable cackling giggle fit.......

Direct hit right when she bent over right in the butt!

then Granddad says....see if you can knock the angel off the top of the tree...
By the time the red dot laser sight lit up the angel on the tree top...I needed a respirator I was laughing so hard.

Two large hunks of Chinese crap this year. Both were wrong!

The first was a lacrosse wall... like those baseball bounce backs we all had as a kid... only this one is shoulder height for lacrosse passes. A snap to put together but one of the pipes was dented and the other pipe would not fit inside. So it goes back today.

The second piece of crap was a Ping Pong Table. Took two trips to the hardware store for missing pieces that should have been in the box. We also needed 4 guys lift it since you build it upside down, but the legs aren't strong enough to lean on when flipping it.... luckily that was assembled on the morning of Christmas Eve rather than at 1 am....

Still, it beats the plastic city that was Christmas when they were younger....

Thats the problem, I looked high and low for non-chinese made gifts this year. The only thing I could find was a Perko Battery switch that I got for my father in law. Everything else seemed to be made in Asia some where.

I told my kids that for every box we opened that was twisted and taped, there was a kid their age in china who packaged it and got paid 5 cents a day to do it.

My house looks like a chinese plastics factory exploded, and it is the grandparents fault. Most of it will find its way into the garbage over the coming months.

Brother .... YOU aint jokin! With three boys under 7 years old, I had my hands full this year. I was up two nights until after
2am putting these things together.... then the rest of my Christmas Day was spent getting the assembled stuff out of their damn security screws and wires!!!! Why in God's green earth is it necessary to screw and hardwire a damn plastic monters truck to the box in 43 places???

Trampoline was a huge pain years back but still works and only had 2 springs or was it 200. Anyway the kayaks were a huge hit and the beginning of 'NO JUNK FOR CHRISTMAS'.

Fortunately for me I decided to get the Radio Flyer "Big Flyer" out on Tuesday night and assemble it. Upon opening the box I noticed that I did not see the cool flag and stick but was figuring we could get by without that when I noticed that there was no rear axle!!! A quick call on Wed. morning to Radio Flyer worked and a rear axle along with the flag arrived via overnight UPS on Thursday morning!! The wild thing is that back in May I had purchased a different brand "Big Wheel" for my middle son's birthday and it did not have a rear axle either!!!

I know the deal on the wooden kitchen sets and trampolines as well. This year was easy and a little sad that the "Big Flyer" was only a 3 beer job!!
