    The old "Flat Calm" is in Murrels Inlet,SC right now. Capt. Dale Prox bought it and uses it commercial fishing. It's a nice rig.

    YOU ASK FOR MY THOUGHTS???..........

    WELL.........FIRST ............I'M GLAD HE CAUGHT HIM ONE.

    AND TO EACH HIS OWN WAY ...... .... I ALREADY HAVE WITNESSED THE SAGA & HORROR OF ONE MAN BEING DRAGGED TO HIS GRAVE BY THIS ANIMALS.....BROKEN FINGER BONES CURED ME A LONG TIME AGO FROM BEING A COWBOY AND I HAVE NOTHING BUT RESPECT FOR THIS FISH

    I AM NOT A FOLLOWER OF THE JONESES....THEREFORE, ....I LOVE COMING HOME TO PONEYTAIL EVERY DAY.

    I READ THE JACKED-UP NEWS STORY.....OH IT IS A COOL READ WITH COLORFUL ADJECTIVES BY THE AUTHOR....

    NOW I ASK THE SOLOIST A COUPLE QUESTIONS MYSELF"

    AND I QUOTE THE ARTICLE....
    "I was 40 miles out off the coast of the Cape there by myself, and I got a 900-pounder tied to the side of the boat, now what do you do?"
    WELL DUH HUH.....NO PRE-FLIGHT PLAN FILED? WHAT DO YOU DO? WHAT DO-YOU-DOOOOOOO???? ARE YOU KIDDIN ME?

    NOW I QUOTE THE ARTICLE ONCE MORE:
    "But it actually happened to be a real nice day, so on the way in I had a barbeque and I had a couple of shell steaks on the grill.I put the boat on autopilot and just kicked back and took a ride."

    Wilkins wasn't worried about the sandbars or the great white sharks that had fishermen in the area "reeling in heads." He wasn't worried about the eight hours that it would take to get back or the blisters on his hands; he was hungry and he was elated. The TV was on; the cold beer was on the dash board. And Wilkins took the time to savor the moments, relive the battle, and relax his tired limbs.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ MY THOUGHTS YOU ASK ?
    LET'S SEE HERE......THE AUTOPILOT IS ON....THERE'S NO NEED TO WORRY ABOUT SANDBARS...CAUSE I AM WATCHING TV AND THE AUTOPILOT CAN WATCH FOR SANDBARS AND FLOATING DEBRIS /OBJECTS FOR ME..... AND I AM RELAXING DRINKING BEER WHILE DRIVING A FISHING VESSEL ON AUTOPILOT FISHING SOLO COMMERCIALLY FOR GIANT BLUEFIN TUNA....
    LET'S SEE.....WHAT ELSE? UHHHH
    WELL IF HE HAD A MATE ON BOARD ....AND A RELIABLE PROFESSIONAL MATE....ONE THAT WOULD SHOW UP ON TIME....MAYBE WITH SOME ASSISTANCE HE WOULD HAVE BOATED THE FISH IN HALF THE TIME...MADE A BETTER POON SHOT AND NOT LOST MONEY ON DESTROYED MEAT....AND POSSIBLY NOT BANG THE FISH AROUND TRYING TO GET IT IN THE BOAT
    BUT 8,600 CLAMS PUTS A LOT OF FOOD ON THE TABLE AND PAYS A FEW ELECTRIC BILLS
    GLAD YOU GOT HIM AND I AM GLAD YOU ARRIVED SAFE TO PORT
