Some of ya know my story, some don't. I wont go into everything in public but the short story is that I was laid off today. I have worked for the same company full time for the last 13 years and also worked for the guy part time while in college. During that time I made the guy a shit-ton of money. For the last 4 plus years I have been promised a the shot of taking over the reigns. Apparently just lip service to keep me quite, cause today I was told that i was just too expensive and let go. no severance, nothing. So what do you do when this happens? You start your own gig. All this guy did is light a spark! Maybe someday it will work out well enough I can be like squidlybil and jet all over the world catching fish! That's all I can say for now but don't count me out! Thanks for letting me vent!

D that sucks... Your saying I think continues... "You make lemonade..." You're sharp enough. Take it steps further. Make lemon oil from the rinds and plant the seeds for a bigger crop too... Something good is bound to come from it... Stay tough man...

Ask anybody going into business "what do you need to start your own business?" and they'll tell you... "Money."

Ask the same thing of anybody in business and they'll tell you... "Customers."

If you're going to compete with him make sure you empty his Rolodex.

Damn D, I hate to hear this. But I know you've got stuff up your sleeve. Now you have the time and extra motivation to make it happen that much faster. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

Guess this means I will have to drive a little further to meet up for lunch now huh?

I dis-agree, Starting a business takes cajones. Not always MONEY. Good luck and make it happen.
