Definitely a hint of fall in the air. Little breezy today. Headed out with Biscoto this afternoon with flounder and bottom rods. We caught some finger mullets and hit a nearshore reef. Caught a few grey trout. Kept a couple that were deep hooked. With the wind not laying down, we decided to look for some gags about mid afternoon. We worked our way offshore and ran across a nice mark just inshore of the numbers that we were headed to. This spot produced a nice bite of gags and a nice cobia.
This spot was also holding the biggest hammerhead shark that we both had ever seen. He was every bit of 8 feet and pissed off. He was eating our gags on the way up and down. After a couple of free meals we picked up anchor and tried another spot. They cooperated nicely there also. Put another keeper in the box and called it a day.
They ate dead cigar minnows, bucktails, and surprisingly live finger mullets. The cobia also ate a live finger mullets on the bottom. Congratulations on a pretty cobia Biscoto along with some nice gagsters. Nice afternoon. No complaints. Life is good. Slip.
