Snuck out for a little while this afternoon with Biscoto for a nearshore trip. Wind was blowing a little bit out of the Northeast but it hadn't built up enough to make it uncomfortable. We quartered the seas and went lookin for some bottom critters. We fished several different spots within 20 miles and I believe all of them produced some gags. We had some fun with them. Some decent, some smaller but all seemed to be full of piss and vinegar. Temp felt good and the little breeze kept us comfortable. Along with the gags we caught a couple of American Reds. This fella was caught on one of Double D's custom rods. I think that he put a little bit of his mojo on it when he built it. Biscoto and I both thank you for the rods and the mojo Doug.
This was the final line up. Biscoto came across the trigger fish at 14 miles off the hill. Nice surprise.
In case anyone is wondering, there is more than a two man limit in the Red Snapper picture but all the fish that were released made there way back down in great condition. Great afternoon with a great friend. Enjoyed it as always Biscoto. No complaints. Life is good. Slip.
Pretty work Slip! Another fine looking group of grill victims. Sounds like the Groupers are beginning to have "amore" on their minds. Don't even get me started on that big ol' Snapper and Trigger. Thanks for sharing.
