    Slip Slidin Report 5/27

Well it is 5/27 and we kept hope alive for this day. I screwed up and put the wrong date on 5/21 and Capt Lee was wondering if we were looking into a crystal ball perhaps. Well no crystal ball but a good day on the Atlantic. Biscoto and I headed out for the afternoon. We didn't know if we were gonna be able to fish offshore due to the forecast so we kinda worked our way out and tested the waters. It got better the further offfshore we went. Thankfully the Frying Pan Tower Buoy was accurate. Made two stops and caught two limits. Well, maybe a few more but we only kept two limits. All others were released safely and some fine critters were released this day. The scamp bite that we have read and heard about was in full swing today. Biscoto found a nest of them and put us right in it. Here are a few shots.

Fish box aftere first stop. If I remember correctly all fish were caught on jigs.

    Fish box after second stop.

Enjoyed it as always Biscoto. No complaints. Life is good. Slip.

The weekly adventures of Nick & Nick-- ought to be a TV show.
    Pretty Broomtails for sure.
A bit off topic question. We don't see many nasty Lion Fish encounters from you two--- is this because the size and type of baits you're using?

Thanks for the compliments fellas. I want to make clear that the fish in the first fish box picture were caught on jigs, not all fish. Glenn, good question. I wish I had a good answer for you. I am kinda surprised we have not come across one also. We use a variety of baits and I'm sure that some of the offerings would be enticing to a Lion fish if we crossed paths. Just haven't yet. Hope we never do.
