    Slip report 10/17

In the words of Tred Barta "You gotta do the work". Damn if we didn't yesterday. After a tough Monday afternoon, Biscoto and I thought we might be in for some of the same non-action. First stop, Biscoto lands a short gag and I hooked into this big ole nurse shark. No less than 200 lbs.

Screw this. We headed offshore and picked up a couple of nice reds along the way. Find a decent scratch and Biscoto removes two very nice scamps from it. (The wind and current ,beyond 30 miles, were opposite eachother. Biscoto did a great job of keeping us on the marks all day long.)

I left my chicken rig rod with a pin fish on it in the front rod holder. He was just under the surface so he could stay alive. He didn't stay alive for long. Two nice gaffers swam up to the boat and the bull ate the pin fish-boatside. The Saltist was locked down and he still peeled off 40 yards and gave us some good aerials. Get him boat side and Biscoto feeds the cow. Game on. Box both of them.

Find a pretty big ledge about 40 miles and decide to finish out a limit there. This fella was in the mix.

    The line up.

Had to work for them today but ended up with a nice catch. Enjoyed it as always Biscoto. No complaints. Life is good. Slip.

Not a new comment, but you guys are DANGEROUS to the grouper population in southern NC waters - Heck - based on last week's report you are flat dangerous to fish everywhere!!!

    Thanks for another great report.
