    SIX ON!!!!NOW WHAT?

With the to fantastic threads going on for getting the hook up.I figured I would start one with you followed the great advice.Well ya know what they say be carefull what ya wish for.POW!!! Right short fish on!...............................And then POW POW POW!!!!!seven reels screamin for mercy lines goin everywhere.

DO YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO?

First slow the boat keep it going strait till ya figure out what is goin on.Clear the cockpit have your crankers man the rods with the line closest in.THIS IS IMPORTANT!! and alot of people have a hard time with it.Forget the other rods those tuna that are screamin line will stop and just kinda cruise out there till you pick up the rod and start crankin on them then its on.Calm always wins out screamin and chaos usually ends in tears and cursing.
What else do ya do on the knock down blitz!

Don't slow down wait for the cover up and turn torwards your first bite after you get covered up then get straight. I see alot of people slow down as soon as they get bit keep going atleast for a minute or 2 you ain't gonna run out of string. Also after the initial bite start jigging as you turn it works.

Depends on the situation first off determine which way the bites came direction NE, SW up sea down sea in the trough whatever. That being detemined slow down get situated work my fish trying to circle on them so as to stay on the bite so we can get stuff back out and keep fishing with what was left out. If i'm working a place say structure with another boat i'll pull off so he can make a pass on them while i pull off to catch mine mind when i say pull off i'm just making a bigger circle. Just keep epeating the process till we are done or the bite stops. Some days all the bites come one direction others it's 2 to 1 seems like.

Trophy, what do you use for jigs when jigging? Are dropping down a diamond jig or using the butterflys. I am assuming that you are talking about yellowfins, but would like to try it out for bluefins this summer to try to get a double. Thanks for the help.

When i refer to jigging i meant grabbing the line and physically jigging or jerking it to entice more bites sorry should have clarified better. I am going to try dropping on the yft's when i can't get a bite with a diamond jig though probably before putting up my kite rig.

    whatever you do,

dont back down. i know, i know, you think we beat this to death last week. and with the big pile up on me, i must be tired. well, you got it all wrong. these are dumb fish. all they want to do is eat. keep moving forward. ever so slightly. plane em up. leave the long ones long. some may come off. so what! how many can you eat? relax........enjoy the moment. keep moving forward. thats why they put a pointy end in the front. your doing fine! and look out if the teaser are just touching the water. leave a bait in the rigger, just draaaaaagin! BAM! thats fishing on the HUBRIS.
