Nice meeting you as well. I build a couple of the orange head with purple and black before the fall.

I picked up my HDS the other day the transducer should be in Mon or Tues. Now we need to just try to match up our schedules and do the install. If you or E-40 can pm me what you think might work for you I'll look at mine and we'll put something together.

I am heading up to hatteras next week and I am just trying to get an idea of what works the best. Your lures look really great!

I run them with ballyhoo and I use #9 stiff wire rigs with either a 7/0 or 8/0 7692 or 7731 mustad.

They look great Ponce. I love the ones with the skirts. I know it will be a great feeling when they raise fish! Keep us posted on their success.

    Ponce,

Those lures look great and I'm sure they'll catch well for you. We ran something quite similar down in Cabo and they played hell on the wahoo and the tuna. We didn't reverse skirt them, though. You might want to try rigging a few that way (with the skirts running back, not forward) and run them to see what you think.

We ran ours as spreaderbar chasebaits and on planers without ballyhoo, but with hollow squids, especially our ballyhoo lookalikes.

    Neat looking stuff. Nice going!

Here's the squid we used...comes in several colors.

Ponce I'm wide open Mon/Tues, Fri-Monday night, we'll get it fixed up. Your rigs look very similiar to the ones a friend of mine pulls off the back of the barges he pulls. He pulls them on hand lines, 400lb mono, 100ft. back, naked and have a bunge cord in line to allow for the strike. I think he uses #10 or bigger wire. He regularly snags stud hoos and big bull mahi. He said the orange/black combo usually gets the fish down in the Gulf, Bahamas and well offshore of the east coast.

The next bite on a jig.
Hey Ponce. Looking good. Here is a good fall color combo I have used some. Thats a tooth mark under the eye I like the darker schemes in the spring, but brighter ones in the fall. Of course, every day is different. When wahoo fishing, if I don't get bit on a color within the first 30 minutes, I'm changing.

    Guys

Thanks for the comments, you all gave me some ideas for the next ones I tie. I like making lures and rigging almost as much as useing them. The problem is I have about 5 years worth of lures that I have made hanging around the garage.
