Smile Simple little fishing tips...post them up guys

eyefish2good made a post that got me thinking, so here it is. Post up simple tips that have to do with fishing or relating to fishing...line storage, lure storage or cleaning, boat stuff, you get the idea...

Here is mine...

never ever put the hook in the ceramic of a guide as it can scratch or crack the guide causing the line to fray...

Try a spinner box holder to hold lures with treble hooks...

When wraping up your water hose after cleaning the boat, dump the entire hose in the water (remeber to keep it attached at the supply side ) and coil it from the end that is hooked up to the spigot. This will allow the hose to spin in the water and you won't have to struggle to keep twisting the hose to lay flat.

NEVER.... AND I MEAN NEVER........ SMOKE A CIG WHILE FIGHTING A BIG FISH.. SOME PEOPLE WHO DO THIS LIKE TO GIVE A BOW TO THE FISH AND BAMMMO!!! THERE GOES THE LINE AND THE FISH!!!

always carry extra toilet paper and a bucket!! when duty calls duty calls.

IMPORTANT!!! - you can never... and i mean never.... have enough ice on the boat!!!

bleed all fish.. even if you want to weigh it bleed it!! and that goes for every fish i catch.. from blackfish-tuna!!!

never pee off a platform or engine stand in the rear of a moving vessel!!

the best one i found, was the one marty bestowed on me, lithium grease in the unibutt and tap the rod butt against the dock as you are putting it together so it seats right.

When washing your reels, wether its a international 50 or baitcaster, before you soap and rinse tighten the drag to full then soap and spray. Let the reels dry then loosen the drag. When the drags are tight, any saltwater thats on the reels durring the cleaning process won't find its way to the drag washers. Then when your finished freespooling the drag allows it to dry

No problem, learned it from my longtime fishing buddy/buddy Gary a.k.a Mako19 a long time ago, and you wouldn't believe the results. It really make a difference, also I have been using this spray lube by Penn on my reels; its good for the reel itself and the line. It comes in a black spary bottle and is very afforable
