I screw these bumpers on everything that slids around in the boat - buckets, coolers, tackle trays, anything - there are great.
Be sure to swap out the screws with ss.

For a deeper running planer bait, get an old JAG 3 head and file the back of it off at a 45 degree angle with a few passes of the ******* file. It is a 3oz head and very broad. After you do this, roll it on a table and watch it settle right side up. If it does not on the first couple of file passes keep going a lil bit at a time until it does. It will swim just like an upright troller. It will still have a flared collar to fit skirt and flash to your liking "witch"leads to my next tips below.
When tying flash to a lure.....You know the drill here. Before you add your flash, wet it down. It will lay nice and flat and will not flail all over the place until the witch hangs and the flash dries out.
Another tip someone here taught me Thanks John. When unwinding a big coil of piano wire.....7 uncoils equals 18'.Then clip and keep uncoiling.

Put drawer liner under your coolers or anything else that you want to stay put in the boat but you can't screw down. It really works and it is CHEAP.
A square of non-skid shelf liner will keep buckets and coolers from sliding around the cockpit.
Sorry rick, I did not see your post on the bumpers, I guess great minds think alike.
you may need a video camera for these:
1. on a hot day... fill the neatly coiled dock hose of the boat beside you with (1) whole container of dawn dish soap.. let sit in the sun all day before they return. video what happeneds next...
2. Insert a dime or nickle (whichever fits better) into the same hose 4 days later. video response again....
3. shorten 'every' dock line of your buddys boat exactly 1' on camera ... video them tying up at the end of the day...
4. insert your left over live bait into your buddies hub caps on thier truck... video them getting out of thier truck..
5. live life to the fullest every day!
when you put your reels up for the season make sure they are in free spool so you don't create a flat spot in the drag washer.
#1-use kitchen shears to cut bait rather than a knife and a cutting board. have found it an easier and safer way to cut chunks on a pitching boat.
#2 - keep a sharpening stone on your boat or tackle box - sharp knives are safer than dull ones.
#3 - cant have too many rubber bands - a million uses while fishing
